Division 3/4/5 Convention 2012

The Divisions 3/4/5 Convention Planning Committee has assembled a great package for the 1st Joint 3/4/5 Divisions Convention. The management and staff of the Holiday Inn Express have been very cooperative and helpful in assisting us to come up with a fine package that includes reasonable room rates and meal costs. Division 5 Newsletter – October to December 2011

Greetings to all Division #5 members! Well, 2011 AFSA International PAC in San Antonio is over and lots of changes are on the horizon. In Division 5, we a “ramping” up to our mid-year tele-conference/meeting and planning events for our upcoming 2012 Division Convention in Savannah, GA. The event is set and we have “locked” in our Hotel (Holiday Inn Express Savannah, GA) that is just off I-95, just 10 minutes from beautiful, downtown historic Savannah, GA. I am excited because this is going to be a combined Division 3-4-5 Convention and we have a great opportunity to meet with our AFSA brethren from up and down the East coast!

In addition, we will be voting in a new Executive Council for the newly formed “Division #2”. So, I definitely need all Chapters to be represented at this very important convention to cast their vote for the leadership of this new and largest of AFSA divisions! More to follow from our Convention Manager for this historic event, our very own Senior Advisor, Mr. Tom Resler! We will get out an agenda and theme information as we “firm” up the agenda and meals. The good news is the cost of the hotel is relatively affordable and the meals are reasonable.

Air Force leaders laud AFSA, Airmen at gala

by Staff Sgt. Eric Donner
Air Force Public Affairs Agency

7/29/2011 - SAN ANTONIO (AFNS) – Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz capped the 2011 Air Force Sergeants Association Professional Airmen’s Conference with remarks at an awards banquet here July 27.

Donley congratulated AFSA on its 50 years of dedicated service to enlisted Airmen. He also applauded the AFSA and Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Award winners, and commended Airmen for their continued professionalism and dedication.

“Our NCO corps is the envy of the world, and for that I owe many of you here tonight a debt of gratitude for the high standards and professionalism you have built to this point and will pass on to the next generation of enlisted leaders,” Donley said.

The quality of Airmen is based on the leadership of the Air Force’s noncommissioned officers, who expertly train, lead, coach and mentor Airmen, the secretary said.

“For better or worse, there are a considerable number of issues to monitor in Washington these days as significant challenges continue to confront our nation,” Donley said. “As a practical matter, our Air Force is doing more with less, but we have been able to make up the difference and get the job done for the joint team and for the nation because of the unmatched quality and performance of our Airmen.”

Schwartz then took the opportunity to congratulate AFSA on their commemorative occasion and to highlight the Air Force’s noncommissioned officers.
